Questions this page answers

What is a Custom Channel for?

A destination PostRout does not ship as a built-in connection: an internal API, a webhook, or a repeatable manual export. Built-in platforms should use their own channel setup.

How is this different from the Custom Channels documentation?

This page describes when a custom destination belongs in the publishing workflow. The docs describe how to configure, test, and activate the endpoint.

What has to be true before activation?

The payload has been tested with sample content, secrets are not stored in the template, and a retry will not create a duplicate publication.

Put the workflow into practice.Write once. Publish everywhere.
